New bomb threat at the Palace of Versailles

The Palace of Versailles evacuated again. Three days after a first evacuation “for security reasons”, the Sun King’s castle suffered a new bomb threat. The evacuation began at 12:30 p.m., according to a police source, and the deminers were called in. According to our information, this would follow a report on the My police station site after an Internet user indicated having deposited 900 kg of explosive.

The Louvre Museum was also evacuated on Saturday October 14 after having “received a written message reporting a risk for the museum and its visitors”, according to a spokesperson. It would then have been “chosen (…) to evacuate it and close it for the day, while the necessary checks were carried out”.
