Beyoncé takes off with her new record and reaches number one in the German charts for the first time in more than 20 years.

Beyoncé (42) is without a doubt one of the most successful singers of the last few decades. In the Official German Album Charts, determined by GfK Entertainment, however, she has not been able to secure the throne in the last two decades. With her new record “Cowboy Carter” she is back at the top for the first time since her solo debut “Dangerously in Love” from 2003.

It is Beyoncé’s third number one album in Germany. The wife of US rapper and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z (54) previously made the leap to the top in 2001 – back then with her former girl group Destiny’s Child and the album “Survivor”.

The singer Maite Kelly (44) can now place herself on the number two again this week with her long player “Nur Liebe”. Project Pitchfork landed in third place with “Elysium” and Sum 41 made a new entry in fourth place with “Heaven :x: Hell”. Future (40) and Metro Boomin (30) complete the top five of the album charts with “We Don’t Trust You”.

The hottest singles of the week

Beyoncé is also in the singles charts, but her current song “Texas Hold ‘Em” only makes it to fifth place. Here, British music producer Artemas leads the way with “I Like The Way You Kiss Me.” Meanwhile, Benson Boone (21) slides down to the two with “Beautiful Things”. Bronze goes to Cyril on April 5th with “Stumblin’ In” and fourth place goes to the song “Time that something turns” by $oho Bani (25) and Herbert Grönemeyer (67).
