In a snack truck parked at the sports park, there was a deflagration on Monday night in Neuried. The local fire department was alerted just before 3 a.m. There was talk of a fire or an explosion. According to the fire brigade, when the emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident, it turned out that escaping gas had triggered a deflagration. Firefighters could not find an open fire. They removed the gas bottle from the food truck and unplugged the truck. According to commander Thorsten Rehkämper, it was fortunate that the deflagration occurred at night. “It’s impossible to imagine if the car had exploded during sports operations with a lot of passenger traffic,” said the fire brigade commander.
