Neubiberg – Peace and Conflict Competence – District of Munich

Exciting research projects, many certificates: The academic ceremony “Dies Academicus” at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Neubiberg is always a popular event for the honored young scientists as well as for the guests. For example, after a year of forced break due to corona, representatives from politics, the military and science came together again in the Audimax.

“Despite the lack of conferences in attendance, research has celebrated outstanding success,” emphasized University President Merith Niehuss. In particular, the Bundeswehr’s center for digitization and technology research, which was founded last year, has many notable projects to show. Among other things, she mentioned the More project, in which a model campus is to be built that will holistically show the sustainable mobility of the future.

Mathias Jaudas, for example, was honored for his work on the subject of “Passing on Psychology” from among the five excellent young scientists from various fields. He developed and evaluated an online-based program for teaching mediation-specific conflict competence. Patrick Körbs received a research award for his work “The Popes’ Concern for Peace. An Ethical Analysis of the Messages on the World Day of Peace”.
