Neubiberg – elementary school is looking for reading mentors – district of Munich

School closures during the pandemic have created learning deficits for some children. In order to support these children, the senior center in Neubiberg, in cooperation with the local elementary school, is looking for “nice, patient and mentally fit seniors”, according to the community press release. The idea is for the volunteers to come to the elementary school at midday on a weekday and help students with additional exercises. It’s about editing worksheets as much as reading. The teaching staff provides the materials and advises the reading mentors. Ideally, the seniors come at the end of the regular school day around 12:20 or 1:05 p.m. If you are interested in helping, you can contact Renate Krier, head of the senior center, on 089/60 01 28 56 or send an email to [email protected].
