Nearly 1.5 million euros of narcotics seized

In one year, during several operations targeting a network that supplied the Toulouse region, the police and customs managed to seize no less than 156 kg of cannabis resin and 1.6 kg of cocaine, the equivalent of 1.456 million euros worth of drugs for resale. On December 7, a new operation took place in the context of this case which made it possible to arrest the sponsor of this vast drug trafficking: a 31-year-old man from Toulouse who had 1.2 kg of cocaine at home, 6, 5 kg of resin and two loaded automatic pistols.

The same day, a little earlier, yet another convoy had been intercepted in Escalquens, south-east of the Pink City, with several kilos of drugs inside. In the aftermath, a dismantling operation was launched under the leadership of the anti-narcotics office of the judicial police and five people, in addition to the head of the network, were arrested.

Search for other accomplices

The sleuths of the PJ had been investigating for several months on this criminal organization which in one year made nearly sixty trips to Spain or to the Pyrénées-Orientales or Pyrénées-Atlantiques to restock.

The six people arrested last week have all been indicted and imprisoned. They join behind locks four of their acolytes, arrested during previous convoy interceptions. The public prosecutor of Toulouse indicated that the investigation was continuing “with a view to identifying the other perpetrators, accomplices in the traffic and all the beneficiaries”.
