Natural spectacle: a dry riverbed becomes a flowing stream

Watch the video: The masses of water are coming – the dry riverbed turns into a flowing stream in minutes.

Remarkable footage shows how a river bed develops into a flowing stream in just a few minutes.

Johnny Hartnell, a 53-year-old retail clerk from Ingleton, captures the video in Kingsdale Bore, Yorkshire.

It shows an empty river bed filling up after a heavy rain.

The creek originates at Keld Head and flows towards the town of Ingleton where it becomes the River Twist just before the famous Ingleton Falls.

Johnny says he’s never seen a riverbed fill up so quickly before.

“It’s a very rare recording because you can never tell if and when something like this will happen.” – Johnny Hartnell

Johnny is a gifted swimmer – preferably in open water. The father of the family shares breathtaking nature shots on Instagram.

So he left that day to go swimming in the creek.

Once there, he can hardly believe his eyes – the water flows slowly along the stones at first, until the masses of water suddenly change into a raging river.

“I have only seen the stream dry so far. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was really fascinating. “ – Johnny Hartnell

A true natural spectacle.
