Every talk show on German television tries a bit to do its own thing, after all you want to be different. “Anne Will” is the most traditional, the group sits comfortably in an armchair and discusses a single topic throughout the show. In “Hart aber fair” there is also a topic discussed, but it is often more heated. The former moderator Frank Plasberg liked to fan the flames a bit, which his successor hasn’t been able to do quite so well so far. Markus Lanz likes to subject his guests to a kind of inquisition and the ambition of those invited is to survive this ordeal as best as possible.
