In a hospital in Naila in the district of Hof, a man shot himself on Thursday evening and triggered a large-scale police operation. Clinic employees first heard shots from a patient’s room, the police said on Friday.
An employee then opened the door of the room, saw the gun and closed the door again. Police took the man into custody and secured the weapon. No one was injured, but three nurses suffered shock. The Hof criminal police and the Hof public prosecutor’s office have started the investigation.
