In the debate about the trip to Ibiza by Bayern pros after winning the German championship, Julian Nagelsmann referred to his pros’ sense of responsibility. “Our players are all old enough and mature enough to be able to decide what they do on their days off,” said the Munich coach on Friday.
Nagelsmann continues: “If they decide to fly as a very large group, then they should do it. They are old enough, I’m not their dad or educator.” The trainer pointed out that he was responsible for sporting matters. That’s why he had planned two days off after the game in Mainz last week: “The players can use the days off as they want.”

Nagelsmann also commented on the future of striker Robert Lewandowski – and reported on a positive exchange between the club’s management and the Pole’s advisor. “I’ve already asked if it was a good conversation. That was it,” said Nagelsmann: “But there’s nothing to report, in no direction. My status hasn’t changed, we definitely want to keep it and definitely want to extend it .” Lewandowski’s (33) contract expires on June 30, 2023.
