MyMuesli Advent calendar Imagine put to the test: 24 doors of chocolate happiness

The MyMuesli “Imagine Chocolate” advent calendar is not for friends of breakfast cereals. Because all sorts of vegan chocolate in many variations tumbles out of the little doors. But it is special for that.

For 5.12 million Germans, muesli breakfast is loud extra several times a week to start the day. However, the 5.12 million people disagree about what the muesli should consist of. It is precisely this gap in the market for personalized breakfast cereals that is actually MyMuesli’s recipe for success. But because only muesli is a bit boring, the company has now ventured into well-trodden paths and sold chocolate.

It is of course different from ordinary chocolate and different in this context means vegan, lactose and palm oil-free, only packed in paper and therefore recyclable. MyMuesli calls his cocoa creation Imagine. And that is also hidden in the Imagine advent calendar. Muesli: None!

Imagine Chocolate Advent Calendar: The packaging

Square box, Christmas design, there is much more to the look of the MyMuesli chocolate calendar not to say. If it weren’t for the question of sustainability, which MyMuesli attaches so much importance to when it comes to its chocolate. With the calendar as such, the manufacturer seems to care less about this. Although all the chocolates in the calendar are wrapped in paper, the doors have to be torn open. It cannot be reused next year. Anyone looking for a reusable and therefore sustainable advent calendar will be disappointed.

More important, of course, is what the advent calendar keeps hidden inside. And finding out is not that easy. In the middle is a large door behind which six large pacts are hidden. MyMuesli packs three bars of chocolate in the packages: Orange Hazelnut Cinnamon (orange, hazelnut, cinnamon), Almond Cinnamon (almond, cinnamon) and Salted Caramel Banana (salt, caramel, banana).

The other three hide dried fruit in coconut chocolate in the form of cashew and cranberry, pistachio and almond, and raisin and cranberry. There is also a five-euro voucher for MyMuesli. The remaining 18 doors hide small chocolate bars in a wide variety of flavors. Unfortunately, two panels slipped into the calendar. You can pull it out with tweezers. A rather annoying fumble.

MyMuesli advent calendar Imagine: The taste test

Nice: All the flavors of the three large bars are included in the calendar as a mini version. Ideal for trying out what you like beforehand. According to the manufacturer, four varieties are exclusive to the advent Calendar contain.

These include Salted Caramel Banana. As it turns out in the taste test, this is a minor annoyance, because the taste of the strain was exceptionally good for the tester. The mixture of sweet and salty is just wonderful and the banana blends into this taste experience discreetly and not overpoweringly. The mixture is clearly a highlight of the calendar.

The raisins and cranberries in coconut chocolate also tasted surprisingly good. Contrary to expectations, the chocolate around the dried fruit is not sweet, but slightly bitter. The raisins and cranberries provide the necessary sweetness. And that is exactly what makes the snack so appealing.

On the other hand, the orange-hazelnut-cinnamon chocolate was a bit disappointing. The orange could be tasted clearly and seemed a bit artificial to the tester’s palate. A childhood memory of Griesson’s soft cakes was awakened when the chocolate caressed the tester’s palate. Must like.

The conclusion of the test was a white chocolate variation: almond cinnamon. It was significantly sweeter than all other varieties. A tad too sweet for the taste of the tester. Still, it tasted good. The caramelized almonds combined with cinnamon are strongly reminiscent of the scent of roasted almonds at the Christmas market. No taste explosion like salt, caramel and banana, because the taste seemed a bit familiar, but the variety is delicious anyway.

MyMuesli Advent calendar: price and performance

MyMuesli charges 50 euros for his Chocolate Advent Calendar. A bar of chocolate costs about four euros in the shop. Twelve mini blackboards cost around nine euros, i.e. 75 cents each. The dried fruits, coated in chocolate, are not available individually. With an estimated value of five euros per package, this results in a goods value of just over 40 euros, which lies dormant in the Advent calendar. In addition, of course, there is the 5-euro voucher. Makes 45 euros worth of goods. The price of 50 euros is okay, because the calendar itself also has to be paid for. But it’s not a particularly good deal.

Conclusion

Tastes differ, of course. Nevertheless, most chocolate lovers should find flavors in the MyMuesli Advent calendar Imagine that are pleasing to the palate. It is also clear that not everyone likes everything, but trying it out is the beauty of an Advent calendar. And this diversity is offered by the MyMuesli advent calendar anyway. The chocolate serves a clientele that likes to eat vegan and is concerned about sustainability. In this context, it is incomprehensible why MyMuesli then puts its delicacies in a disposable calendar. The price of 50 euros just reflects the value of the goods. Nevertheless, it is not exactly cheap for a chocolate advent calendar.
