Music spectacle in the desert: Due to the corona virus, the mega concert in Indio, California, had to be canceled in recent years, but now people are celebrating and dancing again. A German band also performs.

The legendary Coachella festival in California was canceled twice because of the corona pandemic, and now the mega concert with stars like Harry Styles and Billie Eilish is taking place again for the first time since 2019.

The first festival weekend with dozens of artists opened on Friday (local time) near the desert city of Indio. The second is scheduled for April 22-24. take place in April.

Among the first musicians on stage on Friday were the techno horns from the Hamburg techno marching band Meute. On Twitter, the festival referred to the “energy” of the marching band and posted a photo of the musicians in their red uniform jackets.

Performances by artists such as Lil Baby, Harry Styles, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat and Billie Eilish had been announced by Sunday night. Rap star Kanye West, who left at short notice, was replaced by Canadian The Weeknd together with Swedish House Mafia as new headliners.
