Munich: workers fall at the power plant south in the deep – Munich

A construction worker was seriously injured during demolition work in the Munich-South thermal power station in the Sendling district on Monday. At around 1:20 p.m., the 27-year-old from Rosenheim was working on the construction site on Schäftlarnstrasse. There, the 176 meter high chimney, once the second tallest structure in Munich, has been dismantled for two years. According to the police, the man was on a level more than 20 meters high.

During the demolition work, he fell about five meters through a shaft for reasons that are still unknown. He was seriously injured and was taken to hospital by paramedics with a broken arm. Commissariat 13 has taken on the task of determining whether all occupational health and safety regulations have been complied with.
