Vladimir Jurowski, general music director of the Bavarian State Opera, is keen to experiment and conducts the Gelber Klang ensemble in the Schwer Reiter.
It’s fully in the heavy rider. Oboist Claire Sirjacobs says we have never played in front of so many audiences. The Ensemble Gelber Klang owes this to a somewhat mischievous coup by clarinetist Oliver Klenk. He sometimes plays in the opera too. In the hallway he simply asked Vladimir Jurowski whether he would like to work on a joint project. And so the first general music director of the Bavarian State Opera is probably a guest at the Schwer Reiter, both on and in front of the stage.
