Munich: Tricksters capture 40,000 euros from a car. – Munich

Two tricksters stole almost 40,000 euros in Haidhausen. According to the police, a man from Munich was sitting in his car parked on Orleansplatz, not far from the corner of Orleansstrasse, around eleven o’clock on Friday. A stranger knocked on the car window and drew attention to several five euro bills lying on the ground.

It is unclear whether there was actually money on the street. In any case, the driver was distracted by the information, which a second stranger took advantage of. He opened the passenger door and picked up a backpack. He was standing in the passenger seat with almost 40,000 euros in cash. The Munich resident had withdrawn the money from a bank shortly before.

The victim only noticed that the backpack was missing shortly after he had driven off because the passenger door was not properly closed. One of the perpetrators is estimated to be 50 years old, he is said to be about 1.70 meters tall, strong and of southern appearance. Information under 089/2910-0.
