Munich: Timetable change at MVV – what will change in the future – Munich

The timetable change this Sunday is a big success for the Munich Transport Association (MVV): On this day, the MVV tariff area will grow to include the districts of Miesbach, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, the southern part, and Rosenheim, as well as the independent city of Rosenheim. From now on there are eleven other zones in addition to tariff zone M.

In Munich, the innovations in local public transport are modest. Not much has changed on the subway: on the U5 line there is now a five-minute interval during off-peak hours between 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., which then applies throughout the day on the entire line. During this period, the U4 will only run between Theresienwiese and Arabellapark.

With the tram, everything in the timetable remains the same. After all, the new Carl-Amery-Platz stop is already in operation on line 25, where the City-Ring 58/68 buses and the night line N45 also stop. The stop opens up the new residential area on the site of the former Paulaner brewery.

There are also a few measures in place for buses, for example longer operating times on the X80 line and three new MVV express bus lines that connect the city with the district. The line The X205 line offers a direct connection from Arabellapark via Unterföhring and Ismaning to the research center in Garching. The X206 line creates a direct connection between Unter- and Oberschleissheim and Feldmoching train station (connections to S1, regional transport and U2).

In the future, the S-Bahn will operate between Höllriegelskreuth and Wolfratshausen from Monday to Friday, running every 20 minutes until 11 p.m.

Fares in the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV) are rising again. When the timetable changes in December, tickets will be 4.3 percent more expensive on average. The new tariffs are on the homepage mvv-muenchen.de to find.
