Munich: SZ readers’ charity with a new manager – Munich

After almost ten years as managing director of the “Advent calendar for good works of the Süddeutsche Zeitung” Anita Niedermeier, 63, is taking early retirement at the end of the month. Niedermeier, who began her apprenticeship at Süddeutscher Verlag in 1977, worked for many years in the publishing house’s finance and accounting department , which received almost 80 million euros in donations under her direction and thus supported people in difficult circumstances in Munich and the region. Hendrik Munsberg thanked her on behalf of the Advent calendar board with “warmth of heart and correctness”.

The extraordinary general meeting of the advent calendar association elected Sandra Geisler, 36, to succeed her as executive board member. She came to Munich twelve years ago and initially worked in school social work, in quality management and in human resources management for a tour operator for voluntary stays abroad and as a self-employed business coach and trainer.

Most recently she was Head of Public Funding at the Ambulatory Children’s Hospice Foundation. “I am happy to be able to give something back to the city and the people who are not doing so well with my new job,” said Sandra Geisler. She also succeeds Anita Niedermeier on the board of the SZ readers’ foundation.
