Munich: SZ Night of the Authors – Tickets and Stream – Munich

It is an event highlight in autumn, popular with readers of this newspaper. Now the night of the authors is going on for the 15th time, whereby actually we should speak of nights. Because the editors of Süddeutsche Zeitung present themselves on three evenings to talk about their work and discuss topics that move Bavaria, Germany and the world.

For known reasons, it is true that no event is possible as it used to be, when visitors could easily switch from one place to another. In return, the pandemic concept offers other advantages. Readers from all over the country have the opportunity to follow the editorial work: On Thursday and Friday from 7 p.m. there will be three one-hour discussions im live stream on the network; the roundtables on Saturday are planned as face-to-face events in Munich (there is also a stream). 100 readers of this newspaper have the chance to follow the debates live in the Künstlerhaus (3G rules).

What exactly is required? Cerstin Gammelin, Nico Fried and Stefan Kornelius will discuss the outcome of the federal election (September 30, 7 p.m.). “Families in a pandemic” is the topic of Christina Berndt, Georg Cadeggianini, Ann-Kathrin Eckardt and Vera Schroeder (September 30th, 8 pm). Attacks by hackers and online crime are on the agenda of Helmut Martin-Jung, Kathrin Werner and Ralf Wiegand (September 30th, 9 p.m.). The second day begins with “Post Corona Culture”: Bernhard Blöchl and Christiane Lutz talk about the opportunities for Munich’s cultural landscape (October 1, 7 pm). Hubert Wetzel, Johan Schloemann and Katharina Riehl (October 1, 8 pm) are concerned with “Trump’s toxic legacy”. Michael Bauchmüller, Karoline Meta Beisel and Marlene Weiß analyze the climate crisis (1.10., 9 p.m.).
