At Odeonsplatz, the subway lines U4 and U5 will run regularly again in the future: After weeks of construction work, the three escalators that connect the platform with the mezzanine are ready for use again. The Munich transport company (MVG) announced this on Wednesday.
For safety reasons and to store components, the northern platform had to be closed during construction work in recent weeks. The subways therefore only stopped in the direction of Arabellapark or Neuperlach Süd. With the start of operations on Thursday, this restriction will be a thing of the past.
This year, Stadtwerke München and MVG said they renewed a total of 25 escalators. In most cases, according to MVG, this happened without any restrictions on subway operations.
