With his start-up EFT Mobility, Tobias Kahnert develops drive systems, from the battery to the motor. Drones could become much more powerful in the future – but there is still a long way to go before the first large electric aircraft.
Tobias Kahnert bends over an object made of shiny metal, white plastic and raspberry-colored foam. It is the heart of modern mobility, an electric battery. However, this one is not intended for cars, but for small aircraft. “The battery cells are the same as those found in a Tesla or BMW electric car. We are using the technological know-how that has long existed in the automotive industry and applying it to other industries, such as aviation Drones, commercial vehicles or ships,” says the start-up entrepreneur.
