Munich: Serial offenders in clinics and churches – Munich

The Munich police have caught a suspected serial offender who is said to be responsible for numerous automatic break-ins in hospitals. The 46-year-old native of Lower Bavaria is an old acquaintance of the investigators – more than 200 crimes can be attributed to him. This time, too, the homeless man, who is now in custody, has already committed 19 crimes. In addition to clinics in Pasing, Nymphenburg, Bogenhausen and Harlaching, he also visited a restaurant in Haidhausen, shops in Nymphenburg and a theater in the district of Munich. According to the police, he was also assigned burglaries in sacristies in Großhadern and Schwabing, a cellar burglary in Maxvorstadt and a car theft in Schwabing.

Investigators soon knew who they were looking for. He had left clear traces on the machines. Other departments of the Munich criminal police also investigated the man. An arrest warrant was issued on November 10th. Just one day later, a woman whose VW key the 46-year-old had stolen recognized the perpetrator again – she alerted the police emergency number 110. Police officers were able to seize the man.
