Rewe’s new “Pick & Go” supermarket has no cash register. The customer can simply take the purchase with him, the shop handles the payment digitally. Can you trick the technology? A self-experiment.

It must be possible to outwit this place. On 300 square meters, the new “Pick & Go” Rewe at Karlstrasse 36 is full of groceries on the one hand and so full of technology on the other that every Saturn branch would be jealous. 400 cameras hang from the ceiling. Rewe calls this its first autonomous market. Since this Thursday you can shop there during normal opening hours without paying.
