S-Bahn passengers will have to consider alternatives next weekend. Because from Friday, August 26, 10:30 p.m. to Monday, August 29, 4:40 a.m., no trains will run on the main route between Ostbahnhof and Hackerbrücke. The reason is construction work, among other things, around three and a half kilometers of rails are being relaid between the main station and the Isartor.
Replacement buses run between Ostbahnhof and Donnersbergerbrücke. These are on Saturday until 9.30 p.m. every seven minutes, otherwise every ten to 15 minutes. From midnight the buses also go to Pasing. Between the main train station and Ostbahnhof, passengers can also use the U 5, which runs more frequently on Saturdays between 9:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tram 19 runs with additional trips between Pasing and Ostbahnhof.
From the concert area in Riem, the S 2 goes through to the main station
The S-Bahn trains run differently than usual at the weekend: the S 8 is diverted in both directions via the Südring and does not stop between Ostbahnhof and Pasing or on the Leuchtenbergring. All other lines start and end early. The S 1 runs regularly between Freising/airport and Moosach. It runs between Moosach and the main station without stopping and only every half hour. Lines S 2 and S 4 begin and end at Hackerbrücke, S 3 ends in Pasing. The S 6 runs non-stop between Pasing and the main station. The S 7 ends at the main train station and does not stop at Hackerbrücke.
The branches of S 2, S 3, S 4, S 6 and S 7 coming from the east begin and end at Ostbahnhof. For the departure from the Robbie Williams concert in Riem, the S 2 trains will run on the night of Sunday, August 28, between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. from Ostbahnhof without intermediate stops above ground to the main station.
