Because walls behind the tracks are being renovated at the Hohenzollernplatz, Josephsplatz and Theresienstraße subway stations, there will be disruptions on the U2 and U8 lines from Christmas Day onwards.
Between the main station and Scheidplatz, the Munich transport company has to restrict operations in a first construction phase from December 25th to January 4th. At Scheidplatz, the U2 is divided into a northern and a southern section; passengers must change there via the mezzanine to continue their journey. During this time, the U8 only runs between the main station and Neuperlach.
The only exceptions to this rule are New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The disruptions are not over, there will be two more construction phases from January 5th until mid-March.
