Munich-Riem Airport, it’s Saturday, July 31, 1982, shortly after 3 p.m. A few passengers are still waiting to check in in check-in hall C, which is set up specifically for travelers to Israel. Two flights to Tel Aviv are imminent. Around 380 passengers have already passed the security checkpoints, but there are still many suitcases and pieces of luggage in an access corridor. Then a bang. A huge charge of explosives detonated where the luggage was. The explosion shakes the walls, the roof of the 30 meter long access room is ripped off, an iron door flies 100 meters through the air and gets stuck in a meadow. Injured people lie on the floor, screams ring through the terminal hall.
