Munich: Reading by Selma Wels – Munich

It’s a question that needs certain privileges to be ignored: what does it mean to be German? Who is meant when speaking of a collective We? In her new book “Staying Different. Letters of Hope in Hardened Times”, the author Selma Wels cautiously approaches exactly these topics. There are no easy answers; instead, the writer lets her guest authors enter into a literary dialogue with one another in 21 letters.

On May 4, Wels is coming to the still relatively new Zirka venue in the creative district to read from her book and to discuss with the author Marija Latković and the actress Zeynep Bozbay. The reading is accompanied by music from hip-hop and afro-house beats by the DJ collective “Trapwithsoul & Chadee”.

“Stay different. Letters of hope in hardened times”Thursday, May 4th, 7.30 p.m., Circa, Dachauer Straße 110c
