Munich: police raid against child pornography – Munich

The Munich criminal police have struck another blow in the fight against child pornography. During a raid on Tuesday morning, around 70 emergency services searched 27 apartments in Munich and six in the Munich district on a court order and arrested 33 suspects – 31 men and two women between the ages of 16 and 63.

They are strongly suspected of not only possessing prohibited child pornographic recordings, but also of having distributed them in some cases. The investigators seized numerous mobile phones, computer systems and more than 70 electronic storage media, which are now being evaluated. A total of 15 people were treated by the identification service.

A police spokeswoman said the tip came from the United States via the Federal Criminal Police Office, as was the case for the search operation a month ago, during which the police searched 36 apartments in the city and in the district and secured more than one million megabytes of data.

According to the current status of the investigation, it is not yet known whether the suspects know each other or whether there are connections between them for the respective crimes. All 33 arrested were released after the necessary police measures.
