Munich police blow up apartment door and dig up private arsenal – Munich

The Munich police uncovered a large arsenal of weapons in the Fasanerie district on Friday. In one apartment, officers seized more than a hundred firearms and weapon parts and several hundred kilograms of ammunition. The couple, who owned the weapons legally until their official license was revoked, may belong to the “Reichsbürger” scene, but according to police they have not yet been criminally charged. The state security agency responsible for politically motivated crime is investigating.

Members of a special police squad literally stormed the apartment with a bang early on Friday morning. They blew open the door to the property. The two residents were slightly injured by flying splinters of wood, and the woman had to be treated as an outpatient in a hospital. The 52-year-old and her 59-year-old partner had their weapons, hunting and explosives licenses revoked by the Munich district administration department. The reason given was the “loss of legal requirements”.

The surrender of weapons and weapon parts, ammunition and explosives for filling cartridges was ordered. But neither of them cared about the deadlines. How they apparently ignored other official letters. The Bavarian administrative court in Munich then issued orders to search the apartment and seize the weapons.

During the raid, all weapons and weapon parts in the possession of the two people – more than a hundred items together, including around 50 unlicensed items – as well as tons of ammunition were seized. Since there were outstanding tax claims against the 52-year-old, the search was supported by the main customs office, the tax office and a bailiff. The tax office seized various items and a car. The 52-year-old was able to avert an open enforcement arrest warrant by paying a sum of money.
