Munich: Pasing gets a new S-Bahn station – Munich

The Pasing-Obermenzing district is getting an additional S-Bahn stop. On Wednesday, Bavaria’s Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter (CSU) and Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) signed an agreement to finance the Berduxstraße S-Bahn station.

The Free State and the state capital share the costs, currently estimated at 14 million euros. The station is considered useful because a new urban district for around 5,000 residents and 1,000 jobs is currently being built in the Paul-Gerhardt-Allee/Berduxstrasse area.

Deutsche Bahn (DB), which is taking over the construction of the station, should now start planning as soon as possible. “We will now quickly conclude the planning agreement with the DB so that the new Berduxstrasse S-Bahn stop can quickly take concrete shape,” Bernreiter said.

The Berduxstrasse S-Bahn station has been demanded for many years, including by politicians across party lines. Now it should finally be realized; according to a feasibility study, this is also possible. But before passengers can get on and off there, it will take several more years of planning, approval procedures and construction.

“I hope that planning and implementation will now progress quickly so that local residents can benefit as soon as possible from the attractive direct connection to Munich city center, without detours, for example via Pasing train station,” said Mayor Reiter.
