This Aquarius isn’t really cute, just a bit creepy and ugly with his bulging eyes, bald head, green skin and wide, webbed feet. He is a creature that actually lives more in a pond than in the tranquil mill pond from Otfried Preussler’s “The Little Aquarius”. But like this ghastly green Aquarius puppet currently on display in the Sudeten German Museum, one has to imagine the role model for the main character in the children’s book that has been popular for more than 60 years. It’s an amazing transformation.
