Munich Oktoberfest in the desert: There is no beer in Dubai – Munich

Contrary to previous reports, there has been beer in Hawaii for a long time, even from local breweries. One of them, that of the Mehana Brewing Company, is said to be so tasty that “even Germans like it,” as a relevant newspaper article reports. Paul Kuhn would therefore find it difficult to refuse to marry his bride Marianne, as he did while singing in 1963: She demanded that the honeymoon must go to Hawaii, which Kuhn could not endure at all, because first of all it was incredibly hot there, Secondly, the hula-hula might get rid of the bacon, but not the thirst, and unfortunately, see above, there is no beer in Hawaii.

Kuhn has long been dead, but there are certainly still one or the other Paul who wants to avoid getting married. A new land of negative longing can now be recommended to you: No beer in Dubai. This fact became known because two Munich restaurateurs and showmen had planned a “Dubai Oktoberfest” there – but now the sheikhs of the United Arab Emirates have changed their mind and do not want to issue an alcohol license, at least for the time being. A Oktoberfest but without beer – that would be like holding a vegan congress in Texas or a fair for non-alcoholic vodka in Poland. So for now the desert Oktoberfest has been postponed, that’s what the makers say. But will it still be something?

Paule unwilling to marry, however, must now pursue the following tactic: They have to put the flea in their Marianne’s ear that the honeymoon should definitely go to lively Dubai – of course, so that the lady thinks it was her idea from the start. And when she starts again, Paul can quietly sing back: There is no beer in Dubai. If he emphasizes it a little wrong, it even works with the melody.
