A heavily pregnant woman was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Obergiesing. According to the police, the 31-year-old was walking on Martin-Luther-Strasse just before Giesinger Berg on Wednesday around 2:50 p.m. when a 33-year-old man wanted to turn left in his BMW coming from Ichostrasse.
For reasons that are still unclear, the BMW skidded, turned 180 degrees and hit the pedestrian on the sidewalk. She was pushed against a house wall and trapped there, causing a fracture to her pelvis. The emergency services took her to the hospital for inpatient treatment. There the child was stabilized in the womb. According to police, the mother and child are not in mortal danger.
