Munich: Natasha A. Kelly has problems with white feminism – Munich

“I too am a feminist. A radical black feminist, and German at that,” writes author Natasha A. Kelly in her book. In white feminist discourse, the prevailing narrative is that equality can only be achieved when white women and men earn equally. This makes feminism one-dimensional and systematically excludes the perspective of black women.

In her book “Black. German. Female”, the author, curator and visual artist not only reveals her own biography, but also pays attention to the stories of other black women. Kelly presents her criticism of feminism and why the gender category “woman” should be examined in a much more diverse way together with her book at the NS Documentation Center in Munich.

“Black. German. Female.”, Friday, December 1st, 6 p.m., NS Documentation Center Munich, Max-Mannheimer-Platz 1, free entry
