A stubborn cat injured three firefighters during a fire service operation in a Munich apartment. The emergency services extinguished a small fire in the apartment after craft materials caught fire, as the professional fire department announced.
Because the apartment was full of smoke, they tried to get the seven cats there to safety. One of the firefighters tried to stop a cat from escaping into the stairwell – whereupon the animal bit his thumb. The head of operations who rushed to help was also bitten on the hand. A third firefighter escaped with scratches.
Finally, the tenant, who had since arrived, was able to calm the animal down. The remaining six cats behaved cooperatively, the fire department said.
