As an actor and cabaret artist, he is an apparition. After several Corona postponements, Matthias Egersdörfer’s new stage program finally has its premiere, it is called: “News from the backyard”.
The nameless stage alter ego of Matthias Egersdörfer is in a certain way the counterpart to Frank-Markus Barwasser’s Erwin Pelzig, even if they both initially come across as Frankish honest men. The hat- and täschli-wearer, Furzig, is a great philanthropist who, even in anger, remains quietly and behind the mask of the simple-minded connected to the cunning of his creator. Egersdörfer’s brightly colored figure, on the other hand, is a misogynist misanthrope. A smoking volcano that can erupt pyroclastically and let its cannonades of abuse pour loudly over everyone else. Nothing and nobody – not even in the audience – is safe from him, and his failures sometimes increase into the unreal absurd.
In the meantime, Egersdörfer has played with this introduced character on a second level, especially in programs with partners such as Martin Puntigam or Gankino Circus (“I don’t want to be like that”) and in his role as forensic scientist Michael Schatz in Franconiacrime scene an almost sympathetic, at most fatalistic version set aside. What you can now find on the net for his new program “News from the Backyard” points again to the hardcore Egersdörfer: The way to the apartment building to the apartment door is described there: “Egers lives behind with his wife. Step inside ! In the back of the apartment, he’s lying in bed dreaming his funny news. He’s sitting in the living room armchair and shaking his head about it. Come into the kitchen, he’s just had a cheese sandwich, you can still smell the cheese. ” And so on, until the following sentence makes you afraid: “But you don’t need to be afraid, it won’t harm you.”
The tour was originally supposed to start in January. After several Corona postponements, the German premiere will now take place on August 20 in the garden of the Seidlvilla. By the way, Egersdörfer used the waiting time creatively and wittily: With his director Claudia Schulz and the filmmaker Martin Fürbringer, he shot ten video clips about the rehearsals under the title “Hinterhaus Nachrichten” and posted them on his homepage (www.egers.de) placed. In the last it is indicated that you can also experience a new Egersdörfer: He too has now gone under the puppeteer. Which will probably not end very cheerfully either.
