Munich: Man burned under pedestrian bridge on Isarring – police are looking for witnesses – Munich

A previously unknown man burned to death on Thursday evening below the pedestrian bridge on the Isarring, the Kleinhesseloher Bridge. According to the police, passers-by tried to put it out and made an emergency call shortly before 10 p.m.

But any help came too late; an emergency doctor could only determine that the person was dead. The area at the English Garden was cordoned off and the criminal police are investigating and looking for witnesses.

The police did not initially rule out a homicide, a spokesman said on Friday. “There are various possible scenarios as to why the person caught fire,” said the police – and “a homicide cannot be ruled out.”

The investigators suspect that the dead man could be someone “from the homeless community,” but he could not initially be identified. How the fire started, whether other people were involved, whether it was perhaps even a homicide must now be determined.
