Munich: Locomotive drivers’ strike affects S-Bahn traffic – Munich

S-Bahn operations have still not fully started after last weekend’s heavy snowfall, and Deutsche Bahn’s customers are facing new hardship: The German Locomotive Drivers’ Union has announced that it will be on strike from this Thursday evening through Friday evening. According to Deutsche Bahn, this will also affect S-Bahn traffic in and around Munich.

Even if passenger traffic is not due to go on strike until 10 p.m., the railway is expecting massive disruptions as early as 8 p.m., according to a statement. These would last until the night from Friday to Saturday. The S-Bahn will therefore run every 60 minutes during this period. The S8, which goes to the airport, every 20 minutes or 40 minutes.
