Munich: Local politicians criticize the bus network in the West – Munich

So far, there are no tram or subway lines on the western outskirts of the city. Good bus connections are all the more important if the traffic shift away from cars and towards more local public transport is to succeed. Aubing’s local politicians have long criticized the transport policy for their district. Now they are demanding additional bus routes: A new connection to be established is to run from the Limesstrasse via Aubinger to Mainaustrasse at Westkreuz, conceivable as an extension of the existing route 267. And a second bus route is to be built in Freiham with the Triebwerk industrial park and the new building quarter of the track harp in Neuaubing. Here, too, an existing line could be expanded with additional stops.

It would also be important for the citizens’ representatives to connect the newly created Bergson artificial power plant. When the cultural center goes into operation in autumn 2023, there should already be a bus stop at the corner of Bergson-/Rupert-Bodner-Straße, according to the politicians. On the other hand, the demand to include the bathing bus to the Langwieder Seenplatte in the MVV tariff and then to operate the line all year round is not new – also in the interests of the residents of Lochhausen.

From the point of view of the district committee, cycling must also become more attractive. On the one hand, this includes well-developed cycle paths, on the other hand, bikes should be available at all times. The request of the district committee: to install MVG bike stations “area-wide” in the entire district, not just in the Neuaubing-Westkreuz redevelopment area. The whole thing with the aim of being able to park the borrowed bikes freely after use and not necessarily having to return them to a station.
