Three people were injured in a fire in a mobile infrared sauna on Monday evening in Trogerstrasse in Haidhausen: a 57-year-old woman suffered burns on her foot, and two first responders were treated for smoke poisoning. After the 57-year-old had used the new cabin for the first time, it caught fire for reasons that are still unclear.
A 51-year-old neighbor of the apartment building and a 40-year-old employee of a hotel across the street noticed the woman’s calls and helped extinguish the fire until the fire brigade arrived. Fire experts from the State Criminal Police Office are now examining the sauna for a possible product defect. According to initial estimates, the damage to property in the completely sooted apartment amounts to several tens of thousands of euros.
