The Hotel Königshof am Stachus gets new owners: The Munich entrepreneur Hans Inselkammer takes over the property on Stachus, which is currently still being built, with a company belonging to his Inka Holding. The seller is the Geisel family, who previously ran the traditional hotel and announced in August that they wanted to part with the property and the hotel. The Geisel Privathotels hotel group, which also includes the Excelsior on Schützenstrasse and Beyond on Marienplatz, made the sale public on Wednesday in a press release. “We are pleased to announce that Inka, a Munich-based family business, has acquired the hotel property,” said Carl Geisel. Until the previous building was demolished, the royal court was also home to a gourmet restaurant. An expressive new building is currently being built according to plans by the Spanish architectural office Nieto Sobejano, which is due to be completed in mid-2023 under the direction of Geisels.

Inka-Holding not only holds shares in the Augustiner brewery, it also owns real estate in the city center, including the house with the C&A on Kaufingerstrasse. Inka is planning the construction of a new hotel and commercial building on Georg-Kronawitter-Platz (formerly Sattlerplatz) on the back. The Tambosi on Odeonsplatz also belongs to Inka. “A unique new five-star hotel is being built at the Stachus in the heart of Munich,” says Hans Inselkammer. “We are currently in talks with international hotel brands that are potential future hotel operators.” There will also be a restaurant again, they say from the Inca environment, the concept and operator are still open.
