Munich: Hospital employees on strike – Munich

Employees of several hospitals have stopped working in Munich for warning strikes. In addition, workers at the Erlangen and Würzburg university hospitals are on strike, a Verdi spokesman said on Thursday morning. How many employees are involved was initially unknown.

With warning strikes in the public service, employees want to put pressure on employers in the current collective bargaining negotiations. In the health sector in particular, the displeasure of employees has reached a peak, the union said.

Even at offices, museums, courts, road maintenance services, universities, student unions, theaters and the palace and lake administration, strikes by Bavarian workers can occur this Thursday.

The third round of negotiations in the civil service of the federal states in Potsdam is scheduled for the weekend. Verdi calls for income increases of five percent, but at least 150 euros over a period of twelve months. Healthcare workers are to receive 300 euros more per month.
