Munich: Group of up to 20 people rob young people at the English Garden – Munich

Another case of youth violence in Munich: Four students, all between 16 and 17 years old, were robbed at the English Garden on Tuesday night. Shortly before midnight they were walking through the pedestrian underpass on Von-der-Tann-Straße when a group of 15 to 20 people approached them and asked them to hand over their valuables. Two of the victims escaped, but they were soon caught by the perpetrators. One of them is said to have shown a firearm and threatened to shoot.

The attackers then handed over a sum of money in the low three-digit range, whereupon the group of perpetrators fled. The victims called the police, but the search was unsuccessful.

The perpetrators are described as young men, between 16 and 25 years old, North African. Some were masked with balaclavas. The main perpetrator was around 1.90 meters tall, had black, medium-length, frizzy hair and was wearing a green vest, a red sweater and black trousers.

Youth violence has dealt with Munich several times this year. In mid-August in Bogenhausen, four boys and a girl, all between 14 and 17 years old, first abused and threatened a 15-year-old, and later a 12-year-old, for three hours. A similar case from Westend became known at the beginning of August. There, too, a group of young people mistreated a twelve-year-old girl for several hours.

According to the security report from the Munich Police Headquarters, the number of suspects under the age of 21 in the city rose by 6.1 percent to 8,533 last year compared to the previous year.
