Munich: Greenpeace hangs wind turbines in front of the Bavarian State Chancellery – Munich

Environmental activists from Greenpeace have attached wind turbines to six flagpoles in front of the Bavarian State Chancellery in Munich. Secured with wire ropes, they climbed up the masts in the Hofgarten on Wednesday morning in order to attach white and red rotors to the tips.

Your protest a few weeks before the state elections on October 8 is primarily aimed at Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU). He had promised more wind power every year, although this year only six new wind turbines had been connected to the grid, Greenpeace justified the action, which was also confirmed by the police.

A Greenpeace spokeswoman criticized Bavaria as bringing up the rear in terms of wind power in a national comparison. She says: “The next state government must improve and get serious about expanding wind energy in order to be able to meet its own climate targets.”
