Because a mother duck is croaking excitedly, a local resident calls the rescuers. They send “the slimmest firefighter” to get the chicks to safety – but then Mama Duck is gone all of a sudden.
A resident on Hamburger Strasse in Milbertshofen noticed a loudly croaking mother duck on Saturday afternoon: she ran into the garden and heard ducklings chattering from a five-meter-deep shaft – and called the fire brigade. According to the fire inspector, they chose “the slimmest firefighter,” who brought the five animals to the surface with the help of a bucket.
The mother duck flew away during the rescue operation, which is why the emergency services took the chicks to the station. They are to be released into the wild at a later date.
