Munich: fire brigade saves dog from Isar – Munich

A voluntary bathing attempt by a dog in the Isar led to a rescue operation by the fire brigade late on Sunday afternoon. As the emergency services reported, “Cuba”, a two-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, was walking with his owner over the weir in Oberföhring when he suddenly jumped over the wall into the Isar.

The desperate woman immediately called the fire department for help. The dog had meanwhile gone out of the whirlpool into calmer waters in front of a closed sluice gate. The water rescuers crossed over with a rubber dinghy. In order to be able to hand Cuba over to trusted hands, they took the owner with them. According to the fire brigade, both survived the adventure safely.
