Munich: Cyclists seriously injured in collisions with cars – Munich

Two cyclists were seriously injured in two traffic accidents on Thursday in Mittersendling and Untergiesing. A 79-year-old suffered fractures in his upper body and a traumatic brain injury when he collided with a car at the intersection of Heckenstallerstrasse and Passauerstrasse on Thursday evening. The police assume that one of the two people involved in the accident ignored the red light that applied to him when crossing.

A 44-year-old cyclist had already collided with a car at the intersection of Heckenstallerstrasse and Silberhornstrasse in the morning. According to the police, both were heading into town, the cyclist on the Silberhornstraße cycle path, but against the direction of travel. He sustained a fracture of his right forearm in the accident.

Both cyclists were taken to the hospital. The investigation is being conducted by the Munich traffic police.
