Munich: Customs discovered 20 illegal workers in a hotel – Munich

The people from Georgia, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Ukraine had neither work permits nor residence permits.

Customs officers discovered 20 illegal workers during a check in a Munich hotel. They had neither a work permit nor a residence permit, as the main customs office in Munich announced on Friday. According to the information, the people from Georgia, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Ukraine worked for two companies. 15 of them were renovating the hotel, the other five cleaned the hotel rooms for a building cleaning company.

According to the main customs office, criminal proceedings were initiated because of the illegal stay after the control in mid-February. In addition, two workers are being prosecuted for forging documents because they are said to have possessed forged Lithuanian ID cards. The employers are also under investigation.
