Football and rock open air shows have a lot in common: the audience choirs, the festive atmosphere and the godlike worship of the actors. This means that the venue itself is often worshiped in a cult. However, the “holy turf” of Munich’s Allianz Arena was previously reserved for kickers. For rockers it was – with a few exceptions like the appearance of the Hidden cameras at Mehmet Scholl’s farewell game in 2007: “Unfortunately we have to stay outside.”
