The Munich police are faced with a hairy problem: who steals wigs? For the second time in six weeks, burglars have stolen artificial hair on a large scale. On September 30th, they hit a wig shop in Ottobrunn (Munich district), and on Tuesday night they targeted a hairdresser’s shop in Munich’s Maxvorstadt. In both cases, the loot is worth tens of thousands of euros. The criminal police are investigating whether the two break-ins are related.
Commissariat 52 (telephone 089/2910-0) is now looking for witnesses who may have observed anything suspicious in the area of Georgenstrasse, Görresstrasse, Schleißheimer Strasse and Josefsplatz on Tuesday night. The perpetrator or perpetrators had broken open the entrance door to the shop – this is the same modus operandi as in Ottobrunn. You have to pay three to four-digit amounts for high-quality wigs.
