Munich Bar Pusser’s: Barkeeper strangled – because EC card payment was not possible – Munich

“I’ll never get that picture out of my head,” says bar operator David D. Then he pulls a tie out of a cloth bag and vividly demonstrates how Daria B. strangled his employee from behind “like an executioner.” The 24-year-old and her boyfriend of the same age freaked out in the celebrity bar Pusser’s a year ago – because you couldn’t pay with an EC card there.

Daria B. tried to hit the bartender with her fists, when he fell to the ground in front of the bar, she grabbed his tie from behind, supported her legs on his shoulders and pulled. Then she attacked a police officer, tried to choke him too and insulted everyone involved in the worst possible way.

Now the woman is sitting next to her boyfriend on the dock, her hair tied back, in a long-sleeved turtleneck, only the fingers that are sticking out can be seen with a number of tattoos. “She assumes everything is correct, but she can’t remember,” says her lawyer Michael Adams. “I was heavily intoxicated and had a blackout,” she tells Judge Martin Schellhase. Defender Alexander Eckstein also admits the crime for his mandate.

In February 2022, the couple from Bremen were on vacation in Munich. On that day we ate at the Hofbräuhaus, “I had four beers,” says Jonathan B. Around 9:30 p.m. we went to Pusser’s, a cocktail bar on Falkenturmstrasse, which more or less celebrities like to come to. Whiskey and cocktails flowed there, but when it came to paying, the mood changed. The bartender pointed out that you could only pay with cash or a credit card. Daria B. offered to go to an ATM and leave her boyfriend as collateral. Other guests laughed, Daria B. said to one: “If you don’t stop, I’ll smack you!” That was the last thing she could remember.

The accused then attacked police officers

The argument had meanwhile shifted to the bar and there Daria B. attacked the bartender, as he told the police. Then her friend hit him too, the bartender stumbled backwards and fell over. Jonathan B. kicked him while his girlfriend grabbed the tie. Only when several witnesses came did the couple calm down. For this, Daria B. went to the police officers, grabbed one on the neck and bit his gloved finger. In front of Pusser’s and in the detention cell, B. hit her head against the wall and was taken to a psychiatric clinic.

According to the forensic doctor, Daria B. had about 1.6, her boyfriend 1.05 per thousand alcohol in the blood. She takes antidepressants, smokes marijuana – and she has been diagnosed with a borderline disorder, says the young woman. Both have broken off a number of training courses, are unemployed and live on citizen income.

Judge Schellhase sentenced them to one year and three months probation. “What has ridden, is beyond me,” he says. And: “You have no money, but time.” That’s why they have to do 120 hours of community service, “as a reminder,” says the judge. Both want to accept the verdict.
